Detroit Techno 5k

What exactly is this event?

Techno 5k is a 5k run/walk followed by a DJ party at the finish line.

Can I walk the 5k?

Yes participants can either run or walk. 

Is there a time limit to finish?

Yes. The time limit to finish is 75 minutes, which would be averaging right around a 24 minute mile.

Is this event professionally timed?

Yes. We are excited to be partnering with RotPac racing to ensure accurate race timing for participants. 

What does my registration include?

The "race and music experience" includes entry into the 5k, access to the post-race DJ set, a Detroit Techno 5k shirt, and a finisher's medal. The "music only" experience includes access to the post-race DJ set.

When do I have to register by to ensure my shirt size?

Participants must register by April 25 to ensure they receive their desired shirt size. This is due to our printing and shipping timelines by our preferred vendors. We will do our best to accomodate your size after April 25, but we can not guarantee your size will be in stock.

What's the route terrain?

The route is mixed terrain consisting mostly of cement and gravel. There will be one section where you are running on grass.

Will there be water stations along the route?

Yes. There will be three water stations along the route that will have both water and Tailwind Rapid Hydration. We know that this is only a 5k, but we want you all to stay hydrated.

Can I register day of?

Yes, you can register day of if there are still spots available. However, we highly recommend pre-registering to secure your spot, ensure a smooth race day experience, and also ensure tshirt size and finisher medal availability.
